Aftershocks possible from Magnitude 5.4 Zamboanga Del Norte quake

MANILA — Aftershocks and damages are possible after the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that jolted Zamboanga del Norte on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake, of tectonic origin, struck 36 km. northwest of Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte past 11 a.m.

It had a depth of 52 km.

Intensity V was recorded in Siocon while Intensity IV was reported in Zamboanga City and Liloy.

Intensity III was felt in Sindangan and Labason, while Intensity II was recorded in Dipolog City and Manukan, according to Phivolcs.
