Alab hosts Malaysia in first ABL game for 2018

MANILA — Alab Pilipinas looks to turn the tides as a new year ushers in as it hosts Malaysia in the first ABL game for 2018.

In the lone game scheduled on Wednesday night, Alab, entering the contest at 1-3 in the standings, will once again welcome the Dragons, this time at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City at 8 p.m.

In their last meeting in Sta. Rosa City last year, Malaysia rode on Xavier Alexander’s triple-double to repulse Alab as world imports Reggie Okosa and Ivan Johnson had relatively slow starts for the home side.

Things will become different this time as Alab brings in Renaldo Balkman and Justin Brownlee to replace Okosa and Johnson as its world imports.

The Dragons, however, also made a tweak to their lineup, activating Fil-Am gunner Joshua Munzon as their ASEAN heritage import, replacing Reil Cervantes. (Ivan Stewart Saldajeno/PNA)
