Alkalde ng Northern Samar at Leyte, kinasuhan ng Ombudsman dahil sa katiwalian

Sinampahan na ng kasong kriminal ng Office of the Ombudsman sa Sandiganbayan ang Alkalde ng Palapag, Northern Samar at Isabel, Leyte.

Base sa records ng Ombudsman sina Palapag Mayor Manuel Aoyang, Councilor Eleno Calot at Municipal Council Secretary Emil Go ay inireklamo dahil sa falsification of public documents na may kinalaman sa ilang anti-poverty projects na tinalakay sa isang special session noong Pebrero 2015.

Nabatid na sina Councilors Sonia Evardone at Anacorito Javier ay absent sa ginanap na special session at hindi kabilang sa deliberations sa nabanggit na resolution, pero kasama sila sa nag-apruba sa resolusyon.

Samantala, inireklamo naman ng graft charges si Isabel Mayor Saturnino Medina Jr., at ang kanyang asawa na si Nolette at Municipal Administrator Perla Brebante, dahil naman sa maanomalyang pagbili ng mga sasakyan ng municipal government noong Agosto 2010.

Sinasabing ibinenta ni Mayor Medina at kanyang asawa sa municipal govt ang pag-aari nilang KIA Pregio sa halagang P546,000, samanatalang ang market value nito ay nasa P396,000 lamang.

Habang si Brebante ay nagbenta din ng kanyang second hand na Mitsubishi Pajero sa halagang P648,500, samantalang ang market value ay nasa P600,000 na lamang. | (Rey Ferrer/Radyo Pilipinas)
