Alternative learning test applicants have until Feb. 15 to register

MANILA — The Department of Education (DepEd) is reminding those who would like to take the Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) test that they may only register until February 15.

DepEd memorandum no. 006 s. 2018 states that only registered applicants shall be allowed to take the test scheduled in Luzon on March 4 and in Visayas and Mindanao on March 11.

The ALS A&E, formerly known as the Non-formal Education A&E Test, is a paper and pencil test designed to measure the competencies of those who have neither attended nor finished elementary or secondary education in the formal school system.

Applicants may register in the school division offices or district offices identified by the Schools Division Superintendent as registration centers.

Those who may take the equivalency test are the students in Alternative Learning System or non-formal education programs, out-of-school youth, and adults seeking for Certification of Learning.

They must be 12 years old and above (for A&E test Elementary level) and 16 years old and above (for the Junior High School level).

Applicants should bring a registration form, original copy of Certification of ALS Program Completion, original copy of birth certificate certified by the Philippine Statistics Authority or National Statistics Office, two copies of 1X1 ID photo with white background, and name tag.
