Amihan to bring rains across Luzon

By Ma. Cristina Arayata / Philippine News Agency

The amihan or northeast monsoon will dampen most parts of Luzon, the weather bureau said on Wednesday (Dec. 1).

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The Visayas and Mindanao will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

A gale warning has been hoisted over the northern, eastern, and western seaboards of northern Luzon, and the eastern and western seaboards of Central Luzon.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Nyatoh (international name) was last located 1,330 km. east of southern Luzon, outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of PAGASA said it might enter PAR either Wednesday afternoon or evening.

Once inside the Philippine area, it will be given the local name ‘Odette.’ (PNA) – jlo
