MANILA – Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar offered condolences to the family and friends of former Press Undersecretary Robert “Bobby” Capco who passed away on Saturday (Sept. 4).

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, colleagues, and friends on the passing of former Press Undersecretary Robert “Bobby” Capco,” Andanar said in a statement on Sunday.

He also extended prayers for the repose of the former press undersecretary’s soul.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. We pray for the eternal repose of his soul,” he added.

Andanar described Capco as “a journalist through and through.”

He recalled how Capco was an integral communications operations planner and implementer who supervised the communications programs of the Philippine Information Agency, Bureau of Communications Services, and News and Information Bureau during the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The PCOO chief also remembered how Capco was “committed to his profession.”

Capco was editor of the University of the East’s “The Dawn” publications, a reporter at the Philippine Star, and an officer of the Malacañang Press Corps, a group of local journalists accredited by the government to cover presidential and Malacañang events.

He also served as the Journal Group’s Board President. (PNA) – jlo
