Anti-drug ops yield P68-M worth of shabu in Las Piñas

Two high-volume drug distributors were arrested by the authorities, resulting in the seizure of 10 kilograms of illegal drugs worth P68 million in the successful conduct of buy-bust operations in Las Piñas on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 25).

Anti-narcotic operatives arrested Jealal Shaikalabi Mimbalawag, 23, a resident of Quiapo, Manila at around 5:00 p.m., which led to the seizure of five kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, along C5 Extension, Barangay Manuyo I, Las Piñas City.

Another five kilograms of shabu were recovered by the operatives in a follow-up operation in Countryhomes, Woodsrow-1, Talon Dos, Las Piñas City which led to the arrest of another drug personality identified as Arabilla Leono y Jamoram, 29.

Both entrapment operations yielded a total of 10 kilograms of shabu with a standard drug price of P68 million. The drugs were concealed in tea packs with Chinese labels. Also seized were the buy-bust money used in the operation and the vehicle used by the suspect.

The confiscated pieces of drug evidence were brought to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Laboratory Service for qualitative and quantitative analysis, while the arrested suspects are now temporarily detained at the PDEA Jail Facility and will be charged for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The successful anti-drug operations were jointly conducted by operatives of PDEA RO-NCR RSET 1, PDEA IIS together with PDEA SDO, NICA, Task Force NOAH, PDEG-NCR, NCRPO-RID, SPD DID, SPD- DDEU, Las Piñas CPS, and Las Piñas SDEU. (PDEA) – jlo
