SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — Mayor Elmer Untaran expressed full support to the “Clean Rider” campaign launched by the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the province on Wednesday.

Untaran said that this campaign will make the municipality of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique’s capital town, become a better place to live, work and do business.

“Please cooperate and support this program for the safety of everyone,” he said.

Antique Provincial Information Officer Galileo Magbanua said the provincial government, headed by Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao, is also giving full support to the “Clean Rider” campaign intended to prevent crimes committed by motorcycle-riding suspects (MRS).

APPO recorded seven crimes perpetrated by MRS from 2016 to present. Hopes are high that with “Clean Rider”, which is a more vigorous, focused, and effective campaign, it could be totally eliminated.

The “Clean Rider” campaign, aside from reducing and preventing crimes committed by MRS, also aims to eradicate unworthy motorcycles and ensure the safety and security of riders.

Individuals wanting to become a “Clean Rider” must have the required documents such as official receipt and certificate of registration of their motor vehicle, driver’s license and other government-issued identification cards.

Upon the approval of the Chief of Police, a “Clean Rider” sticker will be given to an applicant who has undergone the validation process.

The processing and approval for the issuance of the sticker shall be within one day from the submission of the requirements.

During the launching, the APPO headed by Senior Supt. Leo Irwin Agpangan distributed 100 “Clean Rider” stickers. (Annabel Consuelo Petinglay/PNA)
