Army conducts 2-day info caravan at BGC

MANILA — As part of its 121st founding anniversary celebration, the Philippine Army (PA) conducted a two-day Information Caravan at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

On display are photo exhibits, kinetic and static displays of the latest PA capabilities particularly weapons, force protection gears and other combat essential gadgets and equipment, Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Louie Villanueva said.

“The PA Information Caravan is a good venue for everyone to see and acquaint with their security servants, the ‘Army soldiers’ along with their capabilities. It is a once a year event that is being launched as part of the Philippine Army’s celebration which aims not only to showcase the various entertainment talent and skills of the soldiers but as well as to demonstrate the capability development and the Army’s significant accomplishments,” he added.

The event started Saturday and will end on Sunday.

Aside from the displays, there would also be entertainment in a form of rifle and band drills, puppet show and band concerts, Villanueva said.

“The activity will also be highlighted by the presence of the widely known Army volleyball and Dragon Boat Teams in which both have brought pride and glory in the field of sports to the Philippine Army,” he added.

Recruitment booth will also be put up for individuals who are interested to join the military service. (Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
