ARTA chief Belgica to chair TWG on onboarding TRGAs to TradeNet

Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Director-General Sec. Jeremiah Belgica accepted the nomination to chair a technical working group (TWG) that will onboard trade regulatory government agencies (TRGAs) to the TradeNet.

The TradeNet is the National Single Window System for the online processing of import and export permits.

All 76 identified TRGAs involved in the issuance of licenses, permits, clearances, and certifications for movement (import-export-transit) of cargo are mandated to onboard with the TradeNet.

This is in accordance with the Ease of Doing Business and Anti-Red Tape (EODB-ART) Advisory Council’s Resolution No. 12 and ARTA’s Memorandum Circular 2021-01 or the Guidelines on the Mandatory Onboarding of Trade Regulatory Government Agencies.

Belgica was nominated by Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero on Aug. 24.

The ARTA chief then announced that he accepted the nomination at the 2nd Anti-Red Tape and Ease of Doing Business Forum, where he was the guest of honor, a day after.

“We are grateful to BOC Commissioner Guerrero for nominating ARTA and yesterday, I already accepted the nomination for the technical working group,” he said.

“Ang goal at panawagan natin diyan ay ‘yung 76 TRGAs, itutulak at ie-encourage natin silang pumasok sa TradeNet,” he added.

Belgica said 18 other agencies will go onboard with the TradeNet by the end of the month. (ARTA) – jlo
