
MALAYSIA—The Philippines snatched 2 gold medals in the 29th Southeast Asian Games as Artistic Gymnasts Reyland Capellan and Kaitlin De Guzman took over the men’s artistic floor and women’s uneven bars on Tuesday at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Center Hall 10 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

The 33-year old Capellan was flawless in his flips and tumbles as he wowed the crowd in his routine earning him a total score of 13.95 points with no penalties to give the country its 1st gold in gymnastics.
Silver went to Bin Mat Asri Zul Bahrin with his 13.75 points and the bronze medal finish was claimed by Surintornta Tikumporn of Thailand scoring 13.60.
Capellan was the champion of the same event in the 2015 Singapore Sea Games two years ago.
“Sobrang saya ko dahil nakuha ko ulit ang gold sa floor exercise kahit napaka hirap. Nung nakita ko yung mga landing nila ang gaganda napaisip na ako kung ano yung gagawin ko sa floor para makuha ko yung gold, Capellan said.”

Meanwhile, 17-year old De Guzman was awesome with her routine, almost effortlessly using and transferring to and from the high and low bars—a performance earned a total score of 12.875.
De Guzman out-performed Tracie Ang of host Malaysia who scored 12.875, while Irfanaluthfi Rifda of of Indonesia snatched the bronze.
