Aurora’s top drug pusher nabbed

BALER, Aurora, July 16 — Police arrested one of the top drug pushers in the capital town of this province in a buy-bust operation on Saturday night.

Police Senior Inspector Emilio B. Sison, chief of police of Baler Police Station (BPS) said Baler Drug Enforcement Unit (BDEU) operatives, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), nabbed Alden Castillo, 25, a resident of Sitio Kabiran, Barangay Suklayin, here and tagged as No. 4 on the police drug watch list.

Sison said that Castillo was caught in the act of selling shabu to police who acted as poseur buyer.

Case for violation of Republic Act 9165 also known as “Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002” was being readied against the suspect for inquest proceedings on Monday.

An intelligence operative said that Castillo, who earlier surrendered under Oplan Tokhang, was under surveillance since January 2017.

The hard drugs were said to be from Nueva Ecija and brought in this province where Castillo disposed through his contacts.

In an interview with Castillo, he admitted the recovered items came from a certain “At-tan.”

“At-tan managed to escape when he saw that the police were coming. I was caught and I did not know now his whereabouts,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sison appealed to the general public to stop engaging in any drug related activity as this practice would destroy their future and their family.

He said that they will continue to strengthen their war on drugs to make Baler a drug free community. (Jason de Asis/PNA)
