Aussie activist left PH: BI

MANILA — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday reported that Australian Gill Hale Boehringer, who has been barred from entering the Philippines for his active participation in political rallies, has left the country Tuesday noon.

“He flew out noon yesterday (Aug. 14),” BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said in a text message.

The Australian professor took China Southern Airline Flight No. CZ3092 to Guangzhou via the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.

Boehringer arrived in Manila past midnight of August 7 at the NAIA Terminal 1 from Guangzhou, China.

He was denied entry as his name was included in the BI’s blacklist.

The foreigner reportedly participated in a rally in November 2015, which is a violation of the BI Operations Order that prohibits foreigners from engaging in political activities in the Philippines. (Ferdinand Patinio/PNA)
