Aviation industry, kailangang makipagtulungan upang mapigilan ang pagpasok ng COVID-19 variants sa bansa: DOH

Mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Treat-Reintegrate (PDITR) bilang pag-iingat sa iba’t ibang variants ng COVID-19, paalala ng Department of Health (DOH).

Sa isang panayam sa Laging Handa public briefing nitong Sabado (Hunyo 19), pinaalalahanan ni DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire ang mga local government units (LGUs) ukol sa pagpapatupad ng PDITR strategy, minimum health protocols, at ang vaccination effort upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 variants sa bansa.

Aniya, base sa obserbasyon ng mga eksperto, 40% hanggang 60% na mas nakahahawa ang Delta variant ng COVID-19, unang natuklasan sa India, kumpara sa UK variant.

Samantala, giniit ng DOH na hindi dapat ika-alarma ang variant na ito kung mahigpit na maipatutupad ng umiiral na health protocols lalo na sa mga paliparan at aviation industry.

“The aviation industry should be able to implement and ensure na ‘yung kanilang protocols for preventing infections are there,” saad ni Vergeire.

Aniya, kinakailangang makipag-tulungan ang lahat ng mga institusyon sa aviation industry upang mapigilan ang pagpasok ng iba’t ibang COVID-19 variants sa ating bansa. 

“No matter how strict our borders will be, kung sila naman ay hindi nakakapag-patupad ng maayos na protocols, nandoon pa rin ang banta na pwedeng pumasok ang variants sa ating bansa,” ani Vergeire. – Ulat ni Naomi Tiburcio / CF-rir
