Division head Stela Rose Rayos made the projection as the Business One-Stop-Shop for the processing of business permits opened on January 3 at the Bacolod City Government Center.
The service, which provides easier, faster, and more convenient permit processing, will be available until January 20.
Rayos said in 2017, the City Mayor’s Office issued 22,004 business permits, 15.68 percent higher compared to the 19,021 approved in 2016.
She added that through the one-stop- shop, business owners can fast track the processing of permits, and save time and money at the same time.
The process has been streamlined from five steps into three steps to ensure a faster service, and with accomplished requirements, the permit can be issued in one to two days.
Mayor EvelioLeonardia said in a press statement the one-stop-shop is part of his vision to make Bacolod very business-friendly.
“We wish to see that business confidence is restored and a climate conducive for business and industry to grow and prosper, is established,” the mayor reiterated.
Rayos said the one-stop-shop caters to both renewal of business permits or registration of new businesses.
All government agencies needed to sign the business permits have set up their booths at the Government Center Lobby and Annex Building.
These include the Bureau of Fire Protection, City Health Office, Permits and Licensing Division, City Treasurer’s Office-Licensing Division, and City Planning and Development Office-Zoning Division.
Leonardia had issued an executive order requiring all barangays to set up desks at the Government Center to enable business owners to obtain barangay clearances at the one-stop shop. (Nanette Guadalquiver/PNA)
