Bacoor cops get LED batons for traffic, peacekeeping

BACOOR CITY, Cavite — The Bacoor city government has turned over light-emitting diodes (LED) electronic sticks to policemen here to be used for traffic management and other peacekeeping functions.

Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla gave her commitment to the city police force, through their new chief of Supt. Francisco Jarcia Lucena III, after presiding over the first quarter meeting of the City Peace and Order Council at the Bacoor Government Center last Wednesday.

The turnover was announced Monday during the flag ceremony at the city hall.

Revilla described the LED light sticks as innovative police batons to upgrade the police force’s gadgets and the city’s traffic management department. This is part of the local chief executive’s peace and order initiatives for law enforcers.

She expressed confidence in the new police chief to “demonstrate the same passion as his predecessor Supt. Christopher Olazo in the performance of his official duties”.

Lucena apprised CPOC members on the city’s peace and order situation and presented the 2017 accomplishment report and current strategies for their anti-criminality campaign.

Department of Interior and Local Government city operations officer Nencita Costello also expounded on the 2017 City Peace and Order and Public Safety accomplishment report and discussed the 2018 programs.

Representatives from the Department of Health IVA Regional Office also discussed the operation of ambulances in the local government unit and the barangays while Technical Education and Skills Development Authority officials also presented their training programs for constituents seeking employment here and abroad. (Rogelio Limpin/PNA)
