Baliuag now a city

The town of Baliuag, Bulacan is now a city after its residents voted on Saturday, Dec. 17, in favor of turning the town into a city.

Baliuag is the fourth city in the province after Malolos, Meycauayan, and San Jose del Monte.

According to the Commission on Elections, 75.60% or 17,814 voted for Baliwag’s cityhood, while 24.19% or 5,702 voted against it.  –Report from Karen Villanda/KC – gb
