Bantag takes oath as BuCor head

Former jail warden Gerald Bantag took his oath of office as the new director general of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) before Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra. His first day as BuCor chief also took place on September 20, Pres. Duterte’s deadline for Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) Law freed prisoners to turn themselves in. Guevarra on September 18 asked the new BuCor head to eliminate the irregularities in the New Bilibid Prison such as the GCTA law mess.
