Barangay leaders key to gov’t service, Go says

DAVAO CITY — Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go lauded barangay officials for their role in implementing the programs of President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Speaking at the Grand Regal Hotel in Davao City where he was guest of honor at the Convention of Barangay Officials of Calamba, Laguna, Go said the government is able to deliver its services to the people through the help of barangay leaders.

You are the ones directly interacting with the people; you are the ones they approach. And through you, government is able to deliver its services to them),“ he said.

Go said the barangay leaders are also active in the President’s campaign against illegal drugs and corruption.

In a recent interview, he said he is open to putting up a Malasakit Center in Laguna.

The Malasakit Center is the one-stop shop program of President Rodrigo Duterte to hasten the delivery of medical services and give poor patients access to free medicines.

Paguusapan po namin ng provincial government mula sa Laguna along with the mayors of Laguna. Ipapacheck ho namin lalo na ‘yung pinaka-kumpletong facilities diyan sa province of Laguna para po maglagay po tayo ng libreng pagamot (We’ll be discussing the matter with the Laguna provincial government as well as its mayors. We’ll check which hospitals in the province have the most complete facilities so that we can provide free health services), he added. (OSAP PR/PNA)
