Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua has asked all regional ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of offices to submit courtesy resignations by June 30.

Macacua issued the memorandum on June 23 “in the light of serious and grave complaints” and “to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery in this crucial phase of the end of the transition period” in the region.

All regional officials must tender their unqualified courtesy resignations “not later than the last business hour of June 30, 2025, Monday.”

Incumbent ministers, deputies, and heads of offices are instructed to continue performing their assigned duties until he decides on their letters of resignation.

A check with the office of Macacua showed that as of June 24, not a single minister or deputy had submitted their courtesy resignations.

“To ensure continuity of government services, all concerned shall continue to report for work and perform only their routine functions not involving discretion until any action on the courtesy resignations is taken,” he said in his directive.

Macacua said, “in case a minister, deputy minister, head of office or agency covered by this memorandum circular fails or refuses for any reason to tender his or her unqualified courtesy resignation on or before the deadline, the refusing or failing official shall be deemed resigned.”
