BARMM remains COVID-19 low-risk area

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) remains at low-risk with regard to the average daily attack rate of COVID-19, Health Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph said last Aug. 17 in a press conference.

“Though the region remains a ‘low risk’ area against the virus, we should not remain complacent.”

Latiph also said the BARMM Ministry of Health (MOH) is boosting its efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, especially now with the surge of Delta variant cases.

As of Aug. 16, there are 11 new cases, 454 active cases, 9,708 total cases, 8,879 recoveries, and 373 deaths.

The 11 cases came from Maguindanao (5), Lanao del Sur and Marawi City (2), and Cotabato City (4).

He encouraged the residents of BARMM to get vaccinated.

– jlo
