‘Basyang’ affected families in Caraga now at 528

MANILA — Around 528 families or 1,829 persons were affected by strong rains and floods as tropical storm “Basyang” continues to threaten northeastern Mindanao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) in its Tuesday afternoon.

These people are residing in 13 barangays in Caraga region, NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad said.

He added that these individuals are now staying in 17 evacuation centers in the above-mentioned region.

Also, a total of 2,704 passengers, 366 rolling cargoes, 62 vessels and three motorbancas are now stranded in various ports in northern Mindanao, eastern and southern Visayas. (PNA)
