BGC-Ortigas Link Bridge 24/7 construction resumes

Aside from EDSA, a new route for motorists going to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) from Pasig City is expected to open next year as the construction of the BGC-Ortigas Link Bridge resumes after three months of suspended operations.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) says travel time for the thoroughfare will only take 12 minutes as motorists will no longer need to endure the heavy traffic flow along EDSA.

Now at 60 percent completion, a small portion of the bridge is currently being finished.

Matters on right of way still have to be settled including the relocation of the Meralco underground facility. The electric power distribution company has asked the DPWH for three months to move the site

Meanwhile, the Pantaleon Estrella Bridge connecting Mandaluyong and Makati is being widened to accommodate four lanes with a capacity of 36,000.

The two projects are part of the plan to decongest EDSA.
