BI heightens alert vs human trafficking

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) strengthened its campaign against human trafficking syndicates taking advantage of the holiday season.

According to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, immigration personnel are on heightened alert in all airports and seaports to ensure the strict monitoring of the entry of illegal aliens and exit of human trafficking victims.

Morente warned unscrupulous groups not to attempt to do illegal activities since the BI is prepared to stop them.

Moreover, Morente proudly disclosed that immigration officers are well-trained in identifying passengers and documents to prevent the proliferation of fake travel documents. – PTV News
