MANILA — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reminded anew registered foreigners in the country to proceed to any field office of the agency and make their annual report on or before March 1.
In a statement Wednesday, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente warned those who fail to comply may be meted a fine or prosecuted for violating the country’s alien registration law.
He said that the period for the annual report was non-extendible.
At the same time, Morente advised foreigners who had not yet made the report not to wait for the deadline rush in order to avoid inconvenience.
He also encouraged aliens to report and remit their payments to BI designated offices, the list of which could also be accessed in the bureau’s website.
The 1951 alien registration act requires all BI-registered aliens to report in person to any of the designated BI field, satellite or extensions office within the first 60 days of every calendar year.
BI-registered aliens are those resident foreign nationals who have been issued immigrant or non-immigrant visas and are holders of the alien certificate of registration identity card (ACR I-Card).
On the other hand, BI alien registration chief Jose Carlitos Licas said that each applicant should pay a PHP300 annual report fee and PHP10 legal research fee.
Foreign nationals are required to present his original ACR I-Card and his confirmation number if he made an appointment via the bureau’s 2018 annual report online system.
For aliens who were currently abroad, they should make the report within 30 days from the date of their return to the country, provided they hold valid re-entry permits, Licas said.
For minors aged 14 years and below, it shall be the duty of their parent or guardian to make the report on their behalf.
