BI to implement internal hotline for CoVID-19

MANILA, Philippines—Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente shared that they will be implementing an internal hotline for Covid-19 concerns.

According to Morente, he has designated Deputy Commissioner Aldwin Alegre to chair the BI-Covid Task Force that would ensure that all employees receive appropriate medical response and Covid-related concerns are properly addressed.

“We are planning to implement an internal hotline for Covid-19 to be able to reach all offices of the BI nationwide,” said Alegre.   “The details for this are still being ironed out, and we’re hoping to roll out soon.  It would be a 24-hour hotline that would provide medical advise to questions, as well as provide reliable information about Covid-19 to our employees,” he added.

Apart from this, Alegre also shared that they are planning ensure that all BI offices are disinfected.

“We are doing our best to be proactive when it comes to the fight against this virus,” said Morente.  “The BI-Covid Task Force are crafting other strategies to ensure that our frontliners are protected and the risks they face are minimized,” he shared.

The task force, he added, was also instructed to ensure the sufficient supply of personal protective equipment for employees, and centralized data on donations received.
