Binays post bail in new graft, falsification raps

MANILA — Former Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay and his son, Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay Jr. on Monday posted bail before the Sandiganbayan for the new graft and falsification charges filed against them by the Office of the Ombudsman.

The former second highest official of the land and his son, the former Makati City mayor, each posted a PHP192,000 bail before the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division.

The two Binays are facing four counts of graft and three counts of falsification of public documents in connection with the allegedly anomalous PHP1.3-billion Makati Science High School.

The father and his son are accused of rigging the bidding process of the 10-story school building.

Both accused had denied the charges filed against them by the Ombudsman. (PNA)
