BOC-Clark participates in live trials, prepares for Clark International Airport new terminal operations

The Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark participated in the live integrated trials as part of the preparations for the forthcoming operations of the new terminal of the Clark International Airport.

The live trials, which are vital to determine the preparedness of the airport for the full operations, were conducted last March 4 & 10, 2022 that involved live arrival and departure simulations with passenger volunteers. Among those present were District Collector Alexandra Lumontad, Deputy Collectors, personnel from the passenger service, ESS, CAIDTF, CIIS & XIP.

The Port of Clark is also in constant coordination with Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corporation (LIPAD), the operator and manager of the Clark International Airport, for the efficient transition to the new and bigger airport terminal. BOC Offices in the new terminal are currently being renovated in preparation for the influx of travelers and passengers.

District Collector Lumontad said that the Port of Clark is always on the ground with airport authorities and personnel to arrange and monitor necessary measures for the implementation of customs operations. She added that the new terminal, based on conducted coordination meetings, targets to start operating by mid-April.

The newly constructed terminal building is part of the first Public–Private Partnership project of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration under its Build, Build, Build Program.

The Port of Clark, conforming to Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero’s mandate, is committed to ensuring the efficient clearance of travelers/passengers and their baggage while strictly implementing customs rules and regulations in the new terminal. (BOC) – bny
