BOC-NAIA continuously improves its processes and government service thru ISO Certification

In line with the agency’s intensified efforts to exhibit enhanced performance and quality service, the 1st Internal Quality Audit initiated by the Port of NAIA-Quality Management Unit (QMU) was conducted last Jan. 17-19, 2022 to discuss its preparations on the additional 6 customs processes for ISO Certification at the NAIA Customhouse in Pasay City.

Last October 2021, the Port of NAIA was awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Certification with 21 Customs Processes enrolled, after successfully passing the Final External Audit conducted by TUV-SUD Philippines.

The ISO Certification is a widely known and internationally accepted standard for quality management and recognizes organizations with a quality management system that consistently provides services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

On Jan. 19, 2022, the NAIA-QMU team, during the Exit Conference of IQA Stage 1 Program, announced their recommendation for the submitted additional 6 processes to proceed to IQA Stage 2 after 100% compliance, as seen through the audit.

Once complied with all the requirements throughout the year, the Port of NAIA will have a total of “27 customs processes” enrolled that will ensure quality government service.

The port of NAIA headed by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, inspired by these reforms and innovations of BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, aims to continue its strengthened momentum in accomplishing and contributing to BOC’s various transformation efforts. (PR) – bny
