BOC surpasses revenue target for Q1 2023

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Monday, April 3, reported another strong collection performance surpassing its revenue target for the first 3 months of the year by 8.43%.

Based on BOC’s latest data, revenue collection from the first quarter reached P213.62 billion.

This is higher by P16.6 billion compared to the P197 billion target for the period.

Meanwhile, BOC’s collection for March 2023 at P80.133 billion was its record-high monthly collection for 2023.

It exceeded its target of P72.282 billion by P7.851 billion or 10.86%.

BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio attributed the positive performance to the bureau’s simplified procedures, digitalization, anti-smuggling programs, and uplifting employee welfare and development.

“Our positive collection performance for the first quarter of 2023 is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our men and women at the Bureau. We will continue to implement our priority programs and introduce new initiatives to sustain this positive momentum,” Rubio said. CF/PTV News-ag
