BOC to expand expeditious facilitation to other health devices

Considering the present national health emergency due to the contagious CoVID-19, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified certain medical health devices which are essential in responding to the current pandemic situation. Among the medical health devices being imported are ventilators, respirators, and their respective accessories vital in treating patients infected with the CoVID-19.

In this regard, the Bureau of Customs, will expedite the customs release of these identified medical health devices along with the Personal Protective Equipment and Medical Supplies being fast-tracked since the declaration of national health emergency to respond to the pandemic situation.

For ventilators, respirators and their respective accessories which are imported for commercial purposes, importers thereof need only to present copies of their License to Operate (LTO). On the other hand, foreign donations of these devices do not require FDA clearance prior customs release.

The BOC assures that it is prioritizing the expeditious facilitation of PPEs, Medical Supplies and Devices for donation and commercial purposes.
