Body of abducted fisherman found – JTF Sulu

The Joint Task Force Sulu confirmed on Friday that the body retrieved in Patikul, Sulu was that of one of the foreign fishermen kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf Group.

The 35-year-old victim known as La Aba was identified by the Indonesian embassy and his family.

Medical findings revealed a bruise on his head. No gunshot wounds were found on the victim’s body. Authorities are yet to verify the cause of the victim’s death.

La Aba was one of the five Indonesians abducted by suspected members of the ASG in Sabah last January.
