Bomb threat delays Bacolod-Manila flight

A bomb threat was sent to a passenger of a Manila-bound flight from Bacolod late Sunday night, July 2, resulting in a two-hour delay, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

In an advisory, CAAP said the bomb threat was sent to a Cebu Pacific flight 5J 472 passenger through AirDrop at 11:39 p.m. while inside the plane.

All 193 passengers and cargo were deplaned and were put through x-ray final security check.

A bomb squad was also sent to conduct paneling of the aircraft and cargo.

CAAP said the flight was able to successfully take off at 2:18 a.m. the following day.

No injuries were reported from the incident, and authorities have yet to disclose the source of the threat. AG
