BOQ confirms having addresses of 8 passengers from South Africa, one already located

The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) confirmed on Wednesday (Dec. 8) that they have the addresses of the eight passengers that came from South Africa.

In the Laging Handa program, BOQ Deputy Director Roberto Salvador JR. said that the bureau will continue to work with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government to locate the location of the passengers.

“Patuloy pong nakikipagtulungan ang DOH at BOQ sa DILG at PNP para ma-locate itong walong pasahero na galing sa South Africa,” Salvador said.

The BOQ has given the addresses of the passengers to the PNP to locate them.

The BOQ added that of the 240+ OFWs, it was the eight passengers that they found difficult to contact.

“Out of 240+ [OFWs], lahat naman po na-locate. Ito lang walo ang hindi na-contact doon sa number na binigay nila. Pero may address sila sa provinces na ngayon ay ibinigay na natin sa PNP, sa LGU para ma-contact iyong mga pasahero,” he said.

None of them showed symptoms and those retested were negative for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DOH, on the same day, reported that one out of the eight passengers have already been found.

“The located ROF (returning overseas Filipino) is currently in home quarantine, with negative RT-PCR test, and no symptoms,” DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a Viber message. -Report from Kenneth Paciente/PG – bny
