BSP to release PHP20 coin

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has announced that PHP20 coins are going to be released on December 2019. The coin is based on a study conducted by the University of the Philippines where the PHP20 bill was found to deteriorate fast, being one of the most-used legal tender in the country. The central bank assures the public that the coin will be easily distinguished from the rest of its kind currently in circulation. Upon its dispensation, the 20-peso paper will be retracted gradually.
