BSP unveils commemorative coins for Independence Day

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) unveiled on Monday, June 5, commemorative coins for Independence Day.

The BSP issued the coin set with P100, P20, and P5 denominations.

The commemoration of the 1898 declaration of the Philippine independence in P100; the birth of the country’s first republic at the Barasoain Church in P20; and the bravery of the Filipinos who fought for the Philippine’s sovereignty in the Philippine-American War in P5.

It used the latest digital printing in technology in developing the Anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood coin set.

The coin set features the first colored, non-circulation, and commemorative coins produced by the central bank.

The BSP said it will announce on social media when the coin set will be available for sale.’
