Task force Davao intercepted high-powered firearms inside a public bus traveling from Leyte in a checkpoint at Sitio Licanan, Lasang, Davao City, while two passengers onboard  from Surigao City are under investigation.

Seven .45 caliber pistol, one ingram machine pistol with silencer, and magazines were found inside the bag loaded in the compartment of the bus.

“It turned out na ang laman niya ay baril na nakabalot sa mga damit,” Davao City Police said.

Bunawan Police Station investigated the twenty-seven passengers of Bachelor Tours Bus, with a plate number WOY-113.

Specifically, the bus was from Tacloban City, where most of the passengers came from, while some of them were from Tagum City.

Moreover, according to Davao City office director Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum, they received an intelligent report that an unspecified armed group will sow chaos in Davao City that’s why they tightened up their checkpoints.  | Angelica Bobiles – PTV
