Carranza commends Cavite cops for anti-criminality feat

IMUS CITY, Cavite – Chief Supt. Edward Carranza, Police Regional Office (PRO4A) Calabarzon director, on Wednesday presented the ‘Medalya ng Kagalingan’ (PNP Commendation Medal) awards to Cavite cops for their exceptional, meritorious and invaluable services and commendable accomplishments in the war against illegal drugs and criminality.

Carranza said during his visit to the Provincial Police Office (PPO) at Camp Gen. Pantaleon Garcia here that the Cavite police deserve the honor and credit, not only for themselves, but for the entire Philippine National Police (PNP) organization as well.

He presented the meritorious medals to the PNP-Cavite team for their successful police operations at Poblacion, Noveleta town on May 19 that resulted in the arrest of nine members of Termite Gang and botched the gang’s robbery attempt in the Burgos Pawnshop.

PNP Commendation Medals were awarded to Police Senior Supt. Agosto Pespes Daskeo, SPO1 Elmer Bendano Piang and PO2 Darius Parducho Dela Viña.

The awardees also include Police Chief Inspector Rheden Mabunga Manalo, SPO3 Elmer Alegro Mendoza, SPO1 Randel Canay Mojica and PO3 Richard Rollon Atienza for their successful May 16 police operation at Olive Tree Villa inside Secret Garden in Barangay Amuyong, Alfonso town.

Manalo and his team engaged robbers in a shootout, neutralized three unidentified suspects and recovered the loot of some PHP 15,000 in cash, wristwatch, several gadgets, among other items that were eventually returned to the victims.

Tanza police operatives were also awarded for their feat in the May 9 drug buy-bust operations and the arrest of armed suspect Aurelio Demetillo Jr. after a gunfight and recovered the suspect’s caliber .38 firearm, five ammunitions, six plastic sachets of suspected shabu, among others.

Tanza awardees include the town chief of police Chief Inspector Dhefry Adaya Punzalan and his team SPO1 Roberto Odon Lacasa, PO2 Joel Balla Ballistoy and PO1 Healan Sandino Lacanaria Abonales.

The ‘Medalya ng Kagalingan’ is pursuant to the provisions of Section 2i, Memorandum Circular No 93-018 in furtherance of Sections 14 (m) and 69, RA 6975 as amended by Memorandum Circular No 2006-2003 which provides incentives and awards to deserving PNP personnel.
