Super Typhoon “Mawar” has intensified over the Philippine Sea as it nears the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), bringing strong to typhoon-force winds that extend up to 550 kilometers from the center.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tropical Storm "Mawar" is expected to intensify as a severe tropical storm within 24 hours.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Western and Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, and the Bangsamoro region due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said Saturday, May 20.
