Catriona Gray is Ms. Universe 2018

Ms. Philippines bet Catriona Gray is crowned Miss Universe 2018 in the recently concluded pageant held in Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Tamaryn Green was first runner-up while Venezuela’s Sthefany Gutiérrez was 2nd runner-up.

Gray’s winning final answer emphasized on looking into the “beauty of each situation and being grateful.”

” I work a lot in slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is very…its poor and its very sad and I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty in it. To look in the beauty in the faces of the children and to be grateful. And I would bring this aspect as a Miss Universe, to see situations with a silver lining and to assess where I could give something; where I could provide something as a spokesperson. And this, I think, could teach other people to be grateful. We could have an amazing world where negativity could not grow and foster and children can have a smile in their faces.”

Gray stood out among the 93 other contestants and is the fourth Filipino to have won the Ms. Universe crown.
