Cavite resettlement housing groups trained on leadership skills

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The Provincial Housing Development and Management Office (PHDMO) has provided skills enhancement training to the officers of homeowners association of resettlement projects under the provincial government.

In a report received from Cavite’s Provincial Information and Community Affairs Department (PICAD) on Tuesday, PHMDO has embarked on the capacity building and training following the general assembly of all homeowners associations in resettlement projects at the Provincial Capitol last Feb. 23.

The homeowners’ association officers were briefed on communication and leadership development by Charlie Martinez of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Legislative Council).

The participants also received orientation and were provided information to equip them with the needed skills so they could discharge their respective duties and responsibilities “as voices and representatives of their members.”

The provincial government has embarked on a similar “capacity” leadership training last year, where the province’s barangay tanods were given a number of re-tooling and enhancement trainings to intensify their security and safety skills.

Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla directed the said leadership and emergency-response capabilities of Cavite’s barangay tanods with a series of enhancement trainings which started in mid-September.

Now, Cavite’s focus is with the homeowners’ association to enable them to become partners in ensuring peace and order in their respective communities. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
