Cavite state U to host first province-wide ICT forum

INDANG, Cavite – Cavite State University (CvSU) will host the first-ever Information Communications Technology (ICT) forum, dubbed “Convergence 2018: Actions for Virtual Intelligence and Technology in Education” or CAVITE on June 28.

CvSU’s Director for Public Information and Community Relations Office (PICRO) Allan Robert C. Solis said Monday that the summit to be held at CvSU-Indang Campus next month will promote rational use of technology to contribute to the program of Cavite for a ” Smart and Digital Province”.

Solis added the gathering of ICT experts and practitioners will help address concerns that access to information technology as a significant contributor to reshaping the academic and economic landscape and prepare learners for better employment in the future.

The one-day forum aims to explore technological developments in ICT in Cavite as well as identify new opportunities to speed up the pace of social and economic development in the academe and other sectors of society.

Solis said the participants will be familiarized on the ICT landscape of the province and its role in education; develop a link among the government, business, academe and industry that will generate opportunities for stronger tie-up towards digital world-class Cavite; plus generate employment for students and alumni in the on-site Job Fair.

Lectures for the Summit include topics such as Cavite as Digital Province: First Class, World Class; Cavite’s ICT Landscape; Education in the Digital Age; and Industry 3.0.

The event, co-sponsored by the Provincial Government of Cavite, will draw participants from the academe, government agencies, Local Government Units (LGUs), industry players, telecommunication companies, students and general public.

Invited speakers will come from the Information Technology sector and Business Process Association of the Philippines , Department of Information and Communications Technology, LGUs, ICT practitioners, representatives from the academe such as Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Commission on Higher Education and Department of Education. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
