INDANG, Cavite – Cavite State University (CvSU) was hailed as the top performing state university by Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), besting 102 other state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the country.

Director Allan Robert C. Solis, of the CvSU Public Information and Community Relations Office, told PNA on Tuesday that the conferment of the award was in recognition of the university as having the most number of accredited degree programs for 2017.

The award, Solis shared, was given during AACCUP’s annual national conference held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel from March 7-9.

Dr. Hernando D. Robles, CvSU president, received the plaque of recognition, along with other university officials Dr. Camilo A. Polinga, vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, dean of the Graduate School and Open Learning College;

Dr. Bettina Joyce P. Ilagan, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Prof. John Xavier B. Nepomuceno, administrator of Naic Campus; and Dr. Adolfo C. Manuel, Jr., director for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAAC).

“This is the fruit of hard work, dedication and commitment of the men and women of CvSU,” Robles said.

Solis also considered year 2017 as the transformation year for the university when it submitted and pulled off its 49-degree programs for accreditation through “the unified effort and support from each member of the academic community.”

In 2016, CvSU was also recognized as one of the top 10 performing SUCs in accreditation, capturing the 7th spot. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
