Cebu Capitol distributes solid waste shredders to LGUs

CEBU CITY – The Cebu provincial government turned over solid waste shredders to several local government units (LGUs) in a simple ceremony on Monday at the Cebu Capitol grounds.

Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, who spearheaded the turnover ceremony, said in an interview the Capitol has allocated PHP9 million for the purchase of 19 shredders.

Magpale said the shredders cost PHP468,000 each and were distributed to selected LGUs which needed the equipment the most.

Beneficiaries of the solid waste shredders were Bogo City and the municipalities of Asturias, Bantayan, Ronda, Boljoon, Borbon, Cordova, Ginatilan, Madridejos, Pilar, Pinamungajan, Poro, San Francisco, San Remegio, Sta. Fe, Sogod, Tabuelan, Alegria, and Tudela.
