Cebu City to keep strict implementation of protocols as it moves to GCQ

The local government of Cebu City will continue its strict implementation of guidelines to prevent COVID-19 transmission despite its transition to the general community quarantine (GCQ).

The city government will also closely monitor business establishments. Police and military visibility will be maintained to safeguard the compliance to protocols.

“Kung mapapatunayan na deliberate ang paglabag nila sa minimum health protocols in the workplace, posible na ma-revoke ang kanilang business permits at isasara ang kanilang mga Negosyo (If proven that they deliberately violate minimum health protocols in the workplace, their business permits may be revoked and their business will be closed),” Cebu City Mayor Spokesperson Rey Gealon said.

Authorities have reminded the public to continue practicing health standards as some businesses are set to resume operations amid the easing off of quarantine restrictions. Cebu City has a total of 8,966 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 3,268 of them are active. Recovery count of the city increased to 5,159 while its death toll reached 493.
