Cebu EOC, nanindigang walang dapat ikabahala sa nangyaring COVID-19 outbreak sa isang construction site

Naitala ngayon ng Department of Health (DOH) Region 7 ang outbreak ng COVID-19 sa isang construction site sa Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, matapos magkaroon ng hawahan sa loob ng ginagawang condominium.

Daan-daang mga manggagawa ang agad isinailalim sa COVID testing. Base sa resulta, 49 sa mga ito ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19 noong Lunes, Hunyo 14.

Kampante naman si Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Deputy Chief Implementer City Councilor Joel Garganera na agad nilang matutugunan ang krisis dahil sa mabilis na contact tracing at pag-contain ng COVID-19 sa lugar.

Samantala, balik-operasyon na ang mga inbound international commercial flights ng Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) nitong Hunyo 13.

Pansamantalang inilipat sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) ang mga international flights nito upang mabigyan ng sapat ng panahon ang lalawigan ng Cebu na makasunod sa testing at quarantine protocols ng national Interagency Task Force (IATF) para sa mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs).

Sa kabila nito, nanindigan pa rin si Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia na ipatupad ang Executive Order No. 17 o swab-upon-arrival policy sa MCIA.

Alinsunod dito, agad na papauwiin ang OFWs at ROFs mula sa kanilang quarantine hotels kapag negatibo ang resulta ng kanilang mga swab test, at sa bahay na lamang ipagpapatuloy ang 14-day quarantine bilang pagtugon sa kakulangan ng quarantine facilities.

Matapos ang pitong araw mula sa kanilang pagdating sa paliparan, muli silang sasailalim sa swab testing.

“Here in the Province of Cebu at the Capitol Social Hall,… I am glad I heard [Health] Secretary [Francisco] Duque [III] himself saying he is open for adjustment, and I heard Interior Secretary [Eduardo] Año saying the same thing,” ani Garcia.
