Cebu Pacific cancels Guam flights due to typhoon Mangkhut

MANILA — Cebu Pacific (CEB) on Monday afternoon announced the cancellation of flights between Manila and Guam scheduled for Tuesday, September 11.

The cancellation is due to the weather disturbance caused by typhoon “Mangkhut”, it said in an advisory.

The cancelled flights are 5J 101 Manila-Guam and 5J 102 Guam-Manila.

Due to reports that typhoon “Mangkhut” may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, CEB also advises passengers that some of its flights might be affected in the next few days.

The latest bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said “Mangkhut” was last eyed 2,255 kilometers east of southern Luzon, outside PAR.

It has maximum sustained winds of 150 kph and gustiness of up to 185 kph, heading west at 35 kph, the agency added. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
