China Provides Aid to the Philippines to Help Quake-hit Batanes

Several earthquakes struck Batanes on the morning of July 27, 2019, resulting in a tragic loss of lives and people injured as well as extensive damage.

The Chinese government expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences to those affected families and decided to donate 10 million pesos to aid the victims and support the Philippine government in its efforts to rebuild Batanes and help local residents return to normal life.

The Embassy of People’s Republic of China in the Philppines believes that, under the strong leadership of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the government of the Philippines, the Philippine people will overcome the disaster and rebuild their homeland as soon as possible.

Earlier this year, China donated 100 thousand US dollars for emergency humanitarian assistance for the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit Pampanga last April 22.
