Chinese foreign minister undertakes official visit to Manila

MANILA, July 24 — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi commenced on Monday a two-day official visit to Manila upon the invitation of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano.

Wang and Cayetano are scheduled to have a bilateral meeting on Tuesday where they are expected to discuss various aspects of their bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual concern.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the two Foreign Ministers are also expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

The reciprocal visit comes after Cayetano’s productive visit to China on June 28 to July 1 this year and the warm welcome extended by the Chinese Foreign Minister. (LDV/PNA)
