Chinese health experts laud Filipino medical frontliners

The Anti-Epidemic Medical Expert Team from China has lauded the medical frontliners of the Philippines.

The health experts from China arrived in the Philippines on April 5 to help the country against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In an online press conference, they described the Filipino health workers as dedicated, showing vigor in their work despite the lack of manpower and PPEs.

“The medical staff in the Philippines are very professional. They are able to follow the standard protocol in the diagnostic and treatment of COVID-19. And the results of treatment are good with the high success rate,” First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University (FAHFMU) Vice President Dr. Weng Shangeng stated.

The Chinese group of health experts visited several medical institutions such as the Research Institution of Tropical Medicine (RITM), UP-PGH, and the Lung Center of the Philippines.

The Chinese Medical Team recommended doing additional tests to detect the COVID-19 positive and give the patient proper treatment.

Dr. Weng Shangeng also suggested establishing hospitals dedicated for the treatment of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, according to Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian, they are prepared to give additional aid to the Philippines.

“We believe that under the leadership of Pres. Duterte, the Philippine government and people will overcome the epidemic at the earliest. China will continue to provide our support and assistance to the best of our capability.” Amb. Huang Xilian assured.
